Vi parlo della lettera postata sulla pagina poco fa. Quella del Partigiano Giacomo Ulivi, fucilato in Piazza Grande, a Modena, dai nazifascisti, nel 1944.
Giacomo aveva 19 anni. Giacomo amava la vita, la libertà. Giacomo amava la sua terra. Tutto ad un tratto, mi sono sentito profondamente a disagio, fuori luogo, persino ridicolo. Ridicolo, si. ridicolo nell’avere qualche capriccio; ridicolo nel fare, a volte, polemiche senza senso; ridicolo nel pretendere ciò che alla fine non è altro che un bene effimero. Che lezione di vita, ragazzi!
Quella lettera, peraltro attualissima, dovrebbe mostrare l’orizzonte da seguire ad ognuno di noi, e cioè: mai delegare la nostra responsabilità a qualcuno quando si tratta di un bene pubblico, di un bene comune. Perchè, come affermava splendidamente Giacomo, “la cosa pubblica siamo noi stessi”.
E come riuscire a non delegare qualcuno di poca limpidezza? Partecipando alla vita pubblica e sociale. Partecipando alla costruzione di partiti politici, associazioni culturali, movimenti giovanili e per la difesa dei beni comuni. Solo così potremo ritrovarci, in futuro, con una classe dirigente dignitosa, preparata e specchiata. Come adoro dire sempre: “Non dite che la politica non vi interessa, perchè lei, invece, di voi si occuperà sempre e comunque, avendo risultati positivi e negativi che senza alcun dubbio si ripercuoteranno sulla vita di noi cittadini.
Giacomo Ulivi mi ha infuso speranza, coraggio. Giacomo Ulivi mi ha scosso l’anima con quelle sue limpide parole. Giacomo dovrebbe rappresentare l’Italia di domani. Una Italia onesta, coraggiosa, rispettosa di ogni differenza e amante della libertà.
Lo dobbiamo a persone come Giacomo, che hanno dato la vita affinchè noi vivessimo in un Paese libero. Non possiamo, non dobbiamo permettere che quel loro sacrificio sia vano.
Perciò: No, non dite di essere scoraggiati, di non volerne più sapere. Pensate che tutto quello di cui parla Giacomo accadde perchè in tanti non ne vollero più sapere.
Grazie della lezione di vita, Giacomo. Grande Partigiano. Grande Italiano. Grande Uomo.

Breve vita densa di messaggi che oltrepassano la polvere del tempo e riempiono di orgoglio una regione per avere avuto un figlio come lui.
I valori non hanno confini geografici o culturali quando si è disposti a portarli nel cuore con onestà e trasparenza.
Grazie a Giacomo e grazie a Fabio che mi/ci ha fatto ricordare che anche i giovani non dimenticano che il presente è figlio del passato e, se vogliamo mantenere la libertà e la democrazia, dobbiamo essere disponibili a combattere senza timidizza per lasciare ai nostri figli e nipoti ciò che Giacomo chi ha donato e Fabio ricordato.
